Design Meeting One

Milo and I sat down and did some preliminary sketches and measurements. Were looking at building it in three pieces: the chassis, the outer shell, and the snow skirt. The skirt will cover the wheels and make it look like we're gliding over a snow drift, and the shell will be set on top of the chassis so that when we turn it can be tilted to one side or the other so that it looks like the craft is making banked turns.

We also found this great costuming resource online called Rebel Legion that has a tutorial on making snowspeeder pilot costumes.

Let the adventure begin!

Milo and I have decided to build a Snowspeeder for our towns annual Funk Box Derby. Hopefully it will win and this blog will become a great resource for anyone looking to build their own soap box Snowspeeder. Fortunately for us, the internet is jammed with great technical detail about the snowspeeder and the pilot's uniforms. Wish us luck!
